Cymek Launch
So, here is the new and personal Cymek. I was going to call this a "soft launch" of the site, but let's be realistic—I'm going to be constantly changing and tweaking it. And, I guess I'll start this blog off by answering a few questions that you may have about it...
What is Cymek?
It is the personal blog/site for myself: Craig Damlo.
What is the purpose of Cymek?
This is a difficult question to answer. Instead, the better question would be, "Who is the target audience?" Easy! Me and any other curious individuals who wander to it. So I guess that's the purpose of it: consider it an outlet for myself.
Who am I?
For the best answer to this question, keep your eye on the about page. The quick and dirty answer is that I'm an engineer in the aerospace industry—specifically working on oxygen systems in commercial aircraft—and I'm also a photographer, so expect to see posts on both.
Why am I doing this blog?
This is an outlet for me, but that really seems to be a half-assed answer. I think everyone feels that they have something to say and that someone out there actually wants to hear what they have to say. I'm accepting the fact that nobody wants to hear what I have to say, but I find it helpful to have a sounding board. So, consider this site my sounding board.
What can you expect to find on Cymek?
Whatever is on my mind. Most of the time it will be coming from my home base of Everett, WA. However, I also travel a fair amount, so you'll get my views from other places, too. Watch the links on the side for my Tumblr, Flickr, and other web presences.
My goal is to have a solid look and feel for the Web site by the end of this month. I hope that you enjoy reading the blog, and I will try my best to keep the site up-to-date and interesting.

Stephanie,
I got the name Cymek from the Dune series of books. In the later novels the Cymeks where humans that had their brains removed and placed into giant mechanical robots. I liked the idea of having your brain removed and put into a machine, so I used it for my domain name.
